||Matthew Cordle is 29 years old and lives in Columbus, Ohio. When he was 22
years old, he made the most horrendous choice that he has ever made in his
life and decided to get behind the wheel while he was intoxicated. This was
not the first time he had made this decision, in fact it probably was the
hundredth, or even thousandth time that he had made that decision. That choice
resulted in the death of a 61-year old man named Vince. Vince was a father
and a friend to many. Matthew was incarcerated for just over 6 years and
was recently released from prison a few months ago.
The only thing that he knew after he committed this horrible crime is that he did not want to hurt anyone ever again. Matthew worked hard while incarcerated to ensure that this would not happen. He participated in many therapeutic, educational, and vocational programs. Matthew learned that life is the most important thing that we possess, and it must be cherished and protected. As long as we have life, we have the hope to change and put our efforts towards furthering life in whatever capacity we choose. Matthew would like to share this message of change with everyone he can.
